Joseph Salfi is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, a Principle Investigator at the Blusson Quantum Matter Institute (QMI), and an affiliate member of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, at the University of British Columbia. His research group builds and experimentally investigates controllable solid-state quantum systems on chips, in order to answer fundamental questions about how nature behaves, and to investigate technological applications of quantum systems such as quantum computers, simulators, and networks. He leads the nationally funded NSERC Alliance Quantum Consortium on Quantum Simulation with Spin Qubits. He is the lead PI of the Blusson QMI Grand Challenge in Quantum Computation.
