Philippe Barraud is the Director of the Kirq testbed, Canada’s first open infrastructure dedicated to quantum-safe communications, operated by Numana. With a background in telecommunications and innovation leadership, Philippe leads the design and deployment of hybrid network solutions that combine quantum key distribution (QKD), post-quantum cryptography (PQC), and classical cryptographic safeguards.

His mandate includes defining and validating future-ready blueprints tailored to critical sectors—such as healthcare, energy, transportation, and defense—to guide their transition to quantum-resilient architectures. At the intersection of policy, technology, and industry, Philippe coordinates collaborative trials involving telecom operators, equipment vendors, startups, and government bodies to accelerate adoption and interoperability of QSN solutions.
